This place is so beautiful. Love the cliffs by the water. Theres a whole bunch of little trails and such and hidden forts/bunkers. The ocean view is an added bonus.
Its free, you have to cross the Jamestown bridge to get there, its also right not to Beavertail as well which is a added 8 minute drive bonus.
Good spot also to scube, difficult to paddle and kayak here due to the currents. There are some nice fishing spots in this area as well 🙂
We came on a rainy day. But I can see even if it’s sunny, it is not a very interesting or fun place to linger or stroll
If you like graffiti (for pics etc), the fort is full of it
The fort is a cool place to go for a short hike right along the coast. Inside the fort there are a few rooms open to explore but beware, they are very dark (even on a well lit day) full of garbage, needles and a few deep holes not roped off so the potential is there for someone to get very hurt.
One day, I hope I can live in Jamestown. That's how much I love it here. And, the historic forts and sites that dot the island are just a few of the reasons it's one of my favorite places to be.
Pretty cool park Has a great view of the ocean, just be careful around the structure, there is no safety signs.
Interesting fort to explore. Scuba diving is quite popular also
Went in the off season, so no charge to get in, not sure if there is one during the summer. The old gun emplacement are interesting to look at, but if you want any info or history, you will have to go on line to get it, there is no information in the park. There are some trails here as well, didn't take many of them as didn't have tons of time to explore them, but looked petty well trodden, though not marked in any way. Looks like a good place to take the family for a picnic and a day of exploring during the summer. Unfortunately, the graffiti is a little overbearing and lots of foul language in it, so be aware of that in regards to kids, especially if you explore inside the fort. Was able to spend a few hours there just exploring, so if your a history buff, kinda cool to check it out.
Best place to learn how to Scub. Small ramp provided as well to launch. Small craft like larger canoes can fit on ramp. No boats.
